To choose an AI girlfriend app, decide what you want from it (company, flirting, roleplay or practice), then test five things over a few days: memory, voice and photos, customization, privacy and price. Most apps are free to download, so the best method is to try two or three and keep the one that feels most natural and respectful of your data.

1. What do you want it for?
Different apps lean different ways. Be honest with yourself:
- A friendly companion to chat with at the end of the day.
- A girlfriend-style relationship with affection, dates and selfies.
- Creative roleplay and stories.
- Conversation practice, including in another language.
Knowing this narrows the field quickly. A character library app and a single-companion app feel very different.
2. Does she remember you?

Typing is fine, but a voice call can make the experience feel closer. Check that voice is actually included, how natural it sounds, and whether it needs a paid plan.
4. Are there photos?
Some apps send selfies and photos. If that matters to you, check how much you can customize her look and whether images stay consistent with the character you designed.
5. How much can you customize?

6. What happens to your data?
This is the most important point. Before you share anything personal:
- Read the Privacy Policy.
- Open the Data safety section on the Google Play listing.
- Find out where chats are stored (on your device or on servers).
- Learn whether you can delete your data, and how.

7. What does it really cost?
“Free to download” rarely means everything is free. Look for message limits, locked features, credits and subscriptions. Check whether the price is shown clearly before you pay, and whether you can cancel in your Google Play subscriptions.
8. Is it available on your phone?

9. How does it make you feel?
